Real layout. Illustrative numbers. Position is lower-is-better: ▼ in green means you moved up.

01 — Build vs run

The first query takes an afternoon. Then the numbers move.

Late data Your scriptAsk for yesterday and the row is missing. Take fresh data and the last days change under you. Morning PulseFinal data only (dataState: final), the last 10 days re-read every run, each row dated with the day it covers.
Position Your scriptA percent change turns position 8.4 → 7.8 into a red −7.1%. Morning PulseLower is better: shown as ▼ 0.6 places, in green.
Properties Your scriptsc-domain:example.com and https://www.example.com/ are different site URLs, and the domain form must be URL-encoded in the path. Morning PulseBoth kinds, listed from your account. Unverified ones can't be picked.
Weekly averages Your scriptAveraging daily CTR or position over a week weighs a 10-impression day like a 10,000 one. Morning PulseWeekly and monthly CTR and position are weighted by impressions.

02 — What's inside

Four numbers. Enough to know if search is working.

Daily totals for the property you pick, from Google Search web results only. Quick setup adds all four with 90 days of history. Aggregation is how days add up when you pick a weekly or monthly KPI instead of a daily one.

Lag · 2 to 3 days: Google's final data. No queries, pages, countries or devices: site totals only.

Free covers 3 KPIs, so quick setup stops at clicks, impressions and CTR. Average position too: Try Starter for 14 days.

Why 2 to 3 days late

  • Search Console shows fresh, partial numbers that keep moving. Morning Pulse asks for Google's final ones only, so you never read a partial day.
  • Each row shows the day it covers, and the email adds: “Search Console data arrives 2 to 3 days late.”
  • GA4 is a day behind, so with both connected your traffic rows are more recent than your search rows.

03 — How it works

Set it up once. Read it every morning.

  1. 01

    Sign in with Google

From your app in Morning Pulse. Read-only webmasters.readonly, a grant separate from GA4.

  2. 02

    Pick your property

Domain or URL prefix. Quick setup adds your search KPIs with 90 days of history.

  3. 03

    Read it at 7:00

Google's final numbers, dated with the day they cover.

Read-only. Site totals only.

webmasters.readonly, nothing else.

Reads

  • Daily clicks, impressions, CTR and position for the property you pick
  • Your property list, so you can pick one

Never

  • Reads search queries or page URLs
  • Changes settings, submits sitemaps or requests indexing
  • Keeps its token after you disconnect

Official APIs, read-only access wherever the API offers it. Morning Pulse never edits your apps, orders or payments.

04 — FAQ

Search Console questions, answered straight.

Which numbers are in the email?

Search clicks, search impressions, search CTR and average search position. They are daily totals for the one property you pick, from Google Search web results only (not Discover, News, image or video search), each compared with the previous day, last week and last month.

Does it show which queries or pages moved?

No. Morning Pulse sends daily totals for your whole site, not a query or page report. Its job is to tell you each morning whether search is moving. When a number moves, open Search Console to see which queries or pages drove it.

Why are my search numbers 2–3 days old?

Google finalizes Search Console data 2 to 3 days after the day it covers. Morning Pulse asks for the final numbers only, so you never read a partial day. Each number in the email shows the day it covers, and its trends compare that day with the previous day, last week and last month.

Why is a drop in position green?

Because lower is better: position 1 is the top result. In the email, the arrow follows the number and the color follows good or bad, so a move from 19.2 to 18.4 shows as ▼ 0.8 in green. Position changes are shown in places, not percentages.

What can Morning Pulse see?

Only the read-only webmasters.readonly scope. Morning Pulse reads daily totals for the property you pick (clicks, impressions, CTR and average position) and your property list so you can pick one. It never reads search queries or page URLs, and it can't change settings, submit sitemaps, request indexing, or manage users. Disconnecting deletes the token Morning Pulse stores. To remove the access at Google too, go to myaccount.google.com/permissions; this also removes any other Google access you gave Morning Pulse with the same account.

Which properties work?

Domain properties (sc-domain:example.com) and URL-prefix properties (https://www.example.com/) where you are an owner, full user or restricted user. Unverified properties can't be picked, and each app tracks one property.

How much does it cost?

Free is €0 forever: Search Console can be your one source, with 3 KPIs (quick setup picks clicks, impressions and CTR) and the daily email, with no card. Starter is €4/month or €40/year: unlimited KPIs, so average position too, and all seven sources for 1 app. Pro is €8/month or €80/year: unlimited apps, anomaly alert emails, weekly, monthly and quarterly emails, unlimited recipients, read-only team access and a morning brief on WhatsApp (paid Pro by card only, not the trial or Shopify billing; EU, India and Canada numbers). Your first Starter or Pro subscription starts with a 14-day trial, and checkout asks for a card. See pricing.
